Best Time To Do?

Best time to do

The best time to embark on the Kashmir Great Lakes trek is typically from early July to mid-September. This period offers the most favorable weather conditions, with clear skies and moderate temperatures, making it ideal for trekking. During these months, the snow has melted sufficiently, allowing access to the trails and revealing the stunning landscapes of the Great Lakes region. Additionally, the flora is in full bloom, enhancing the scenic beauty of the trek. However, it’s essential to check local weather forecasts and trail conditions before planning your trek to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. July to September happens to be peak summer transitioning to Autumn and the best time to trek in Kashmir. The landscape comes alive during this window. And even though the window is tight, you notice the landscape changing color and texture as the months proceed.

To ensure a seamless experience, we recommend booking your adventure at least two months in advance. Should the need arise to cancel your trek or adventure activity, we kindly request written notification. Cancellation charges will apply from the date we receive your written advice.

We understand the frustration of cancellations, but rest assured, we are committed to facilitating your next adventure with us.

We offer a cancellation policy that is fair, practical, and convenient for our customers.

Cancellation between 7-14 days of the trek departure date: 50% of the total trek cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

Cancellation between 1-6 days of the trek departure date: 100% of the total trek cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

In the unlikely scenario that Roopkund Heaven cancels a trek:

We rarely find it necessary to cancel our treks. However, in the unlikely event that we must cancel due to force majeure, natural calamities (such as continuous rain or snow, snowstorms, thunderstorms, floods, landslides, earthquakes, or any other hazardous conditions), or unforeseen circumstances such as political unrest, curfews, local riots, pandemics, lockdowns, government orders, or any other situation that poses a safety risk to the entire group, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our participants above all else. Roopkund Heaven will issue a voucher for the full amount of your trek fee (minus the GST). You have the flexibility to utilize the Trek Voucher for any of our treks within the upcoming year( Valid for 1 year only), ensuring you can embark on an adventure with us at your convenience.

Note: We do not provide trek vouchers to individuals who descend from a trek for any reason. This may occur if your trek leader instructs you to descend due to reasons such as inadequate fitness, failure to maintain the designated turnaround time, altitude sickness, high blood pressure, or any other health concerns or injuries. Additionally, vouchers are not issued if participants are found engaging in prohibited activities such as drinking, smoking, or violating trek regulations, or if individuals choose to voluntarily leave the trek for personal reasons.

In the unlikely scenario that Roopkund Heaven changes a trek:

Occasionally, circumstances beyond our control arise, such as heavy snowfall/rain, thunderstorms, floods, landslides, earthquakes, or unforeseen events like political unrest, curfews, local riots, pandemics, changes in permission regulations, or government directives, which render a trek impossible to conduct.

In such cases, Roopkund Heaven will make every effort to offer an alternative trek. These alternative treks may be located within the same state or elsewhere. If the cost of the alternative trek is lower than your originally booked trek, we will issue a voucher for the difference in the trek fee. Conversely, if the cost is higher, you will only need to pay the difference in the trek fee.

There may be instances where the alternative trek provided does not align with your preferences. In such situations, Roopkund Heaven will provide you with a trek voucher for the trek fee (minus the GST amount). This voucher can be redeemed for any of our treks over the next year ( Valid for 1 year).

Please note that refunds of the trek fee or differences in cost are not possible under these circumstances.

Voucher terms:

The voucher is non-transferable.

This voucher cannot be combined with any other offers from Roopkund Heaven.
